Tulsi. Her essence is soft in my body, and warm. Expanding like a rush of delicate.. I don’t know… nourishment. There’s something so feminine about this medicine, her perfume, maybe…
The scent so alive, so pure, and yet complex, deep and soft and spicy and earthy, and so sweet and fierce. Fierce like love, and fierce like kindness. Fierce like a big ol’ bear hug, fierce like the sacred.
It’s Holy Basil, after all. Holy Basil’s reputation for her beauty and her medicine is as old as time. Tulsi is long known to be a sacred plant in Ayurveda tradition, with qualities that make it the perfect gentle medicine for almost everything. My garden doesn’t feel complete without a patch of holy basil to fawn over.

Primarily an adaptogen, this is one herb that you’d benefit from taking daily. Cultivated organically here at Robinwood, tulsi is a favourite of mine for centering myself. She helps to relieve stress, anxiety, and mental exhaustion. Tulsi supports homeostasis in the body, bringing clarity and calm, and balance back to mind, body, and spirit.
Tulsi asks that you slow down, spend some time. She asks you to sit down right beside her, take time with her, and tend to her growth. Each bud pinched off, encourages the branching of 2 more, and if you keep this up through July, by August she will knock you off your feet…. And once you are knocked off your feet, you can lean in to her, take a deep breath, and embrace her soothing magic.
