The Robinwood Apothecary
The abundant gardens and forests of Robinwood are full of plant medicine. Rachel has been studying and working with herbs for 8 years, and spends her time growing, harvesting, and developing a relationship with the plants she loves.
Plant Medicine
Each plant has her unique medicine. Some might be wonderful at suppressing a cough, or aiding in digestion. Some herbs may help you sleep, or manage stress. Here are a few ways herbs can help us.

Sleep/Anxiety
Nervines are herbs that can help a de-regulated nervous system. Folks dealing with anxiety, trouble sleeping, and adrenal exhaustion may benefit with herbal support. I work with herbs such as California Poppy, Skullcap, Hops, Valerian, Motherwort, and Milky Oats, and Vervain.

Immunity
When your body needs strength to heal, there are many allies in the plant kingdom. Calendula, Echinacea, Turkey Tail, to name a few.

Stress/Balance
Adaptogens are herbs that support the adrenal system, and our body's response to stress. Ashwagandha, Tulsi, are two of my favourites. Alternative herbs restore balance in the endocrine and hormonal system by aiding the body in eliminating metabolic waste, and restoring balance.

Respiratory Health
When our respiratory system is compromised, some herbs can help to expel mucus, calm spasmodic coughs, or open airways. These are our Expectorants, Relaxants, Anti-microbials -herbs like Mullein, Usnea, Wild Bergamot, Elecampane.

Digestion
Bitter herbs are common. You can taste the flavour and know. Dandelion, elecampane, mugwort, yarrow, can stimulate digestion, to improve nutritional absorption, and improve the functions of the liver and kidneys, and gallbladder.

Healing
There are some wonderful herbs that help speed healing, both topically and internally. Many herbs possess anti-microbial qualities that inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungus. They are perfect for taking when you are coming down with a cold or flu, and recovering from infection,.
Products available
Plant Medicine made with love.
I am going to keep this simple, for myself. I have customers that have been ordering herbs and tinctures for years. I love the connection I have with each customer and am happiest to receive emails, asking if I have certain herbs in stock, or certain tinctures, salves or serums. I can't keep up with inventory on my website, as I do my best to keep up with the garden and raising my boy, and all my art projects. Please connect if you are interested in anything, to ask questions, order products, or chat about herbs.

Dried herbs
There seems to always be an abundance of Calendula, Wild Mint, Echinacea, California poppy, Valerian, Elecampane, Yarrow, Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Wild Bergamot, Lemon Balm, Mugwort, Motherwort, Skullcap, Usnea, Spilanthes, Lavender, Elderflower...

Tinctures
Alcohol is very effective for extracting medicinal properties from plants, and supplying them to the body. The very essence of the plant can be absorbed into the menstruum, and then easily administered in a dropper, under the tongue. I love tinctures for their ease, and effectiveness, and am always making lots. Favourites seem to be the sleep and anxiety herbs. I sell many bottles of the sleep tincture, and various nervines.

Teas
I can't even begin to tell you how lovely it is to swish up my favourite herbs into delicious teas. There are herbs with the most beautiful aromas, delicate and complex flavours, nutritional benefits, minerals, etc. And I love to work with them and harmonize them into different blends.

Bitters
Bitters are essential to our digestive and overall health. They can even taste good, and offer other benefits...

Salves
Some medicines are not for internal use. Topical applications are wonderful ways to benefit from herbs, and salves and balms are beautifully effective. I make a healing salve, pain salve, and cottonwood salve. I also make a muscle salve called Cougar Balm, in tribute to the famous Tiger Balm.

Beauty Serums/Masks
A completely lovely, silky soft facial serum rich with the meadow flowers of Robinwood. A blend of Yarrow, Calendula, Stinging Nettle, infused into Rosehip, Avocado, and Jojoba, oils with a dash of Frankincense and Geranium.
The vitamins, fatty acids, flavonoids and proteins of these ingredients have been proven to benefit the skin in a variety of ways. Anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant, astringent, moisturizing, hydrating, soothing.
This special blend is deeply nourishing for real life skin. It calls to mind the beautiful way flower petals shimmer, how the light in the garden sparkles, how the stars are our reflections… and it smells amazing.
